Tako (octopus) sausages

This is probably my easiest recipe, if you even want to call it a recipe.
These little sausages are a childhood favourite for a lot of asian kids & no they are not made from octopus they are cut like little octopus tentacles just to make them look cute. 😊Adding a soft boiled egg (boiled for 5min) is a game changer.
In other recipes they add a raw egg or a sunny side up. So do whatever you feel like.I love how easy and fulfilling this is and done within 10minutes.

Ingredients

  • 250 gr Cooked rice
  • 4 Japanese sausages (you can use any sausages but I like the Japanese one because of their size and flavour)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 green onion
  • sesame seeds
  • Soy Sauce
  • Vegetable oil

Instructions

  •  Cut your sausages half way through on the side.- Rotate them 90 degrees and slice again.- Now your sausages have 4 legs.

Note: If you really want to make them look like octopus tentacles you can slice between the slits and you end up with 8 legs. But I like the how they look with just 4 legs.

Steps

  • 1. To a medium hot sauté pan, add a little bit of vegetable oil.
  • 2. When hot add your sausages and rol them in the pan for 2-3 minutes. (Don’t pick them up)
  • 3. When the sausages are browned and look like little dancing octopuses, remove them.
  • 4. Add rice to a bowl together with your soft boiled egg and the octopus sausages.
  • 5. Finish off with your toppings of choice like; green onions, sesame seeds and soy sauce and enjoy!
